Cape Peninsula

The Western Cape of South Africa is blessed with a huge range of attractions and activities for both local and overseas visitors. In particular, the Cape peninsula provides a very rich and interesting environment and we have  highlighted a few of the attractions below.

Table Mountain:

is a sandstone plateau rising up above the Cape Flats. The top is approximately 3km wide, and at its highest point, Maclears Beacon, rises to 1085m. Over the centuries it has become one of South Africa's most famous landmarks.

Victoria and Alfred Waterfront:

Situated in the heart of Cape Town's working harbour with the dramatic backdrop of the majestic Table Mountain, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is widely acknowledged as Cape Town's premier shopping and tourist destination and a well known entertainment hotspot.

Whale Watching:

From July to December whales can be seen off the shores of South Africa.  Most common in South African waters are the Southern Right Whales. They come here to breed and can be seen basking and frolicking often just metres from the shore.

Cape Point:

is situated in the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park. Cape Point possesses one of the highest sea cliffs in the world at 249m above sea level.  The lighthouse at Cape Point has long been one of the  world’s great shipping beacons and is the brightest lighthouse in the Southern Hemisphere.

Kirstenbosch:

One of the "Seven Magnificent Botanical Gardens of the World", is one of South Africa's eight National Botanical Gardens. Preserving South Africa's rich natural heritage in a unique botanical display.
